rg peever , the band leader ; writer ; vocals ; guitar ; piano

rg started playing at 13 and performed pop top 40 songs in the early 70s ;from there it was a blues band and then cloned bruce Cockburn and began writing songs as a singer - songwriter , playing folk venues for many years . he formed the jazz tex in 97 and had the opportunity to produce a millennium song "planet 2000 " . the jazz tex play mostly pop jazz these days and perform at venues , festivals , and resorts . rg is an exceptional writer and has a great voice for pop jazz .

pete McIntyre ; bass ; production

pete's played bass for 35 years in many different bands all across Canada . he has 15 bass guitars which come and go on eBay . he's an inspiration for the band , a total player with style and attitude . he lives for music and offers a great deal of great advice to other members , truly a team player .

russ strathdee ; sax ; production ; carma

russ has played with every band north of Toronto , including the martels, the Figleaf Jazz Band, the L!NKS. russ has the style and experience every studio player lives for. russ is a great soloist on sax , and can play anything. he also has great music production and computer skills. russ has his own cd on the market and has been on galaxie cbc . truly a player .

steve guy ; sax

steve is a sax rock and roller whom we grabbed from hot rocks , a stones tribute band . steve is hot and blasting yet soft and cool . he has a very dynamic style , he has played with the newmarket allstars and the jazz infusion . steve is a real team player and a great performer.

bruce campbell ; drums

Bruce has been playing professionally since age 13, and in his 30+ year career has worked throughout Canada, the USA and the Caribbean, with Carnival Cruise Lines, etc. In addition to teaching, extensive freelancing & subbing, Bruce can be seen drumming for local bands The Baytowne Big Band (14 years), Quattro (Contemporary jazz/pop), The SunKings (Classic rock), SPLOINK (post-modern Bebop) and Eric Kidd (Country)

ryan cooper ; guitar

ryan is a guitar virtuoso . for a young guy he is exceptionally talented if not really amazing on the guitar . he is dedicated and loves to play rockabilly . ryan has a gretch classic howbody electric six string cutaway . ; very hot . ryan was highly recommended by steve at johnstones music land . ryan offers many different styles to the jazz tex . another great player . ryan plays with many different bands in the area but mostly for girls at parties.
